The Lady Mustangs Volleyball team came out strong Thursday night against Edgewater, getting a 2-0 lead on the match (25-21, 25-14). The Eagles' fought to hold on, however, coming back to win the next two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-21. The Lady Mustangs, although exhausted, dug deep to pull out the win in their final set, holding the Lady Eagles to only 12 points . Thursday's victory makes the Lady Mustangs 2-1 on their season. Contributing to the win were Mylaina Brooks with 11 assists, 2 kills, 1 dig and 1 ace; Tyra Brown with 2 blocks and 2 aces; Kayla Carpenter with 1 kill; Nirmaliz Colon with 8 digs; Julie Givens with 13 kills, 1 dig, and 1 ace; Elena Medina with 11 assists, 1 kills, and 2 aces; Sarah Parsons with 2 assists, 5 kills, 4 digs, and 5 aces; Kianna Rivera with 8 kills, 2 digs, and 3 aces; and Jessica Sanfilippo with 1 assist.
