Girls Basketball Advances to State Semis; Boys to Regional Semis 2/21/2022

The Lady Mustangs defeated St. Cloud 52-32 on Friday to advance to their eighth appearance in Lakeland at the State Semifinals! Wekiva will play Bloomingdale Thursday, February 24, at 8:00 pm at the RP Funding Center. Tickets are $10 and available at fhsaa.com; live stream will be on NFHS Network. A win on Thursday would put Wekiva into the State Championship game at 5:30 on Saturday against either St. Thomas Aquinas or Nease.

Meanwhile, the boys upset Melbourne on the road 66-62 on Thursday to advance to the Regional Semifinals! (The boys' basketball postseason runs one week later than the girls' season.) Wekiva will travel to Winter Haven Tuesday night at 7:00. With a win, they would play Friday at 7:00, either on the road at Lakeland or hosting Kathleen.
